Silver Leaf In-Home Care Adds Jim Trombley to Leadership Team

To help manage growth and ensure quality, Silver Leaf In-Home Care has promoted Jim Trombley, an experienced caregiver with the company since 2016. His title is Senior Scheduler, as he is implementing and training staff on new scheduling software. But his role extends to all aspects of how care is delivered at this small, service-oriented company.

Over his sixteen years as a caregiver, both in-home and in larger residential communities, Trombley has developed expertise with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, traumatic Brain Injury, seizure disorders and strokes. Trombley, 45, also has an extensive professional background in business systems and food service.

A Wealth of Business Experience
Silver Leaf founder and owner, Patty Bergeron, was delighted when she learned that Trombley’s skills go beyond his caregiving work. “It’s rare that you find someone who’s great with clients, plus has systems know-how and forward-thinking energy to help improve how we all work together,” she says. Before devoting his career to caregiving, Trombley worked as a quality assurance Specialist in manufacturing for over 12 years. For seven years before that, he was a chef in a senior care community. He’s also an eight-year veteran of the Vermont Army National Guard.

Trombley is a good fit at Silver Leaf, where the standard of care is already high, and personal relationships are one of the company’s values. He describes himself as meticulous and process-oriented, and he thrives on challenge. “I’m good at seeing patterns,” he says. “This is often the key to problem solving.” Trombley’s main motivation, though, is making a difference in people’s lives. He says it’s always special to hear the life story from an elderly client. “I’m also pretty good at matching new clients with the right caregivers on our staff,“ he explains. “That’s a very satisfying part of the job.”

Making the Most of a Flexible Work Schedule
Because his caregiving work schedule is flexible, Trombley can take time to travel or head into the deep woods. He has visited Thailand several times. He hikes, canoes, backpacks and enjoys the break from modern technology. His favorite remote spots are the St. Regis Wilderness in upstate New York, Waterbury Reservoir and the Long Trail in Vermont. He has two teenage daughters and lives in Essex Junction.
